The President woke up this morning somewhere between 1.2 and 1.6 million dollars richer and at the same time found himself in the lofty company of the likes of Jimmy Carter and Al Gore, I wonder if his handlers had to hide the razor blades or if he thought it was really cool. I always thought the Nobel Peace Prize was given to those who had accomplished a great deal promoting peace during their lives, so this most current issue of the prize makes it appear as though there were no qualified recipients or the basic criteria has changed as radically as the politics our current President and his many minions appear to espouse.
I can understand Jimmy Carter's win in that he has tried in his own weird naive way to promote peace in and around the middle east, albeit, at the expense and possible extermination of the Nation of Israel. Al Gore is the one though that is the most perplexing of them all, a Nobel Peace Prize for his over the top, OK, his outlandish, contrived, phony science, jive views on climate change that appear to have been promoted to make him very rich and accomplish nothing else whatsoever. Then we have Kofi Annan possibly one of the most ineffective useless and corrupt Secretary Generals of the UN which is in itself an oxymoron, remember his oil for food program where I believe one of his sons got really rich and the po' got mo' po'. And how can the world ever forget my all time favorite, Yasser Arafat, now I guess he's a good choice if you are the consummate Jew hater and think that terrorists are just misunderstood well intentioned guys. But wait, if you recall Mr. Arafat who was so concerned about the Palestinian people and their plight made sure that he got billions in funding and foreign aid to 'help improve the impoverished lives of his people, the Palestinians' when in reality Mr. Arafat was the sole recipient of many of those billions of Aid dollars dished out by that evil United States, yes billions, and deposited the cash in Swiss Bank accounts for himself and his family, and the neutral Swiss, knowing what he was doing never said a word, so much for Mr. Arafat.
President Obama has basically been given the award in the same way he was begging for the Olympics, for himself. Not for any special accomplishments but what he says he would like to do, it would be nice if the committee choosing their recipients would base their choices on what the individuals have accomplished and not what they promise and may never deliver. There have been many who deserve the award and I'm sure many who should have been awarded the prize instead of any of the above mentioned, but that's politics on the world stage.
