If there aren't enough problems in the world, that little cockroach Kim Jong iI manages to cheat death and rears his badly coiffured head again.

A little blurb in today's news headlined North Korea and their declaration that all treaties and agreements with South Korea are dead. They must have spent everything they got from the last round of negotiations or their 401's have tanked like the rest of the world, and I'm sure they are in need of cash, lots of cash since they have no other reason for pulling off something a stupid as this. Typical of these maniacs they try to create the illusion that they are being threatened by the South and as such have to defend themselves. These idiots have rewritten history more times than Disney and each time they do, the world gets a little clearer picture of life under a radical form of Socialism, which by the way is direction most Socialist societies end up taking.

It's almost time for North Korea's chief handlers, the Chinese, to put the stops on these douche bags. The Chinese are the only ones who can make this whole mess right. Kim Jong iI doesn't like the Conservative government in the south and in the process will only make things worse for the people in the North. I guess the only hope is to hope the next stroke this horrible little stroke has is his last and that the military finally comes to the conclusion that they will do much better if they join up with the South.

The new administration's policy of negotiating by appeasement is nothing more than whoring ourselves on the world stage.

Our new envoy to the middle east, George Mitchel is calling for the Palestinian Authority to oversee the movement of goods into Gaza. Taking into consideration that The Palestinian Authority or as they are better known these day's as FATAH, the largest faction of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization), you remember them, the fine organization headed up by the late Yasser Arafat, that started out as a terrorist group and as far as any rational person is concerned, still is, and shouldn't be trusted. Somewhere in this mess I can almost guarantee that Hamas and Fatah will get together in a dark smoke filled room somewhere in Gaza and come to some kind of agreement.

We for our part will appease the Palestinians in some way, because that's the new tone for diplomacy, then screw over the Israeli's and come out on the short end of the stick which is what happens when you deal from weakness with radicals. It appears even Jimmy Carter wants in on the act, why just the other day he said Hamas are his friends and that if the Israeli's would negotiate with them they would abide by the negotiated terms, really now.

I seem to recall Hamas refusing to extend a certain eighteen month ceasefire in the very recent past, forced the Israeli's to invade them and after they agreed to the current ceasefire they continue to launch rockets into Israeli territory, whats wrong with this picture?

It's apparent that the honorable Mr. Mitchel has never heard the term, letting the fox guard the hen house. The next four years should be very interesting.

I know, I said no more blogo for Blago but this guy is using a page right out of the Johnny Cochran/OJ Simpson playbook, and that ain't right!

I've stayed out of the fray as of late, with regards to the Governor of Illinois because I have felt all along that this goof didn't deserve any more publicity, good or bad, but these latest moves have pushed me over the edge and I can't pass up this opportunity, I apologize to my readers.

The 'media circus' the media circus calls it, shows that Governor Blagojevich isn't nuts as some claim, but as sane, cunning and calculating as they come. He managed to get the publicity hungry electronic media to give him air-time to supposedly tell his side of the story since, as he claims, the Illinois legislature is only trying to get rid of him because they are mad that he has worked on the behalf of the good citizens of Illinois as they are really crooks and he's just a good guy that's being much maligned. We'll he's partly right, the members of the legislature are mostly crooks, and that's where any resemblance his statements have to the truth abruptly end. The only thing missing in the various interviews are tears and if this liar thought he could impact public opinion, specifically the Moron's that watch these shows with a few tears, watch him, he'd turn on the water works in a heart beat.

I can understand a show like the View that caters to an audience of lower intellect and I can fully understand Blagojevich pinpointing that particular show since he may get lucky and have one or more of their viewers end up on his jury when his criminal trial comes up on the docket. But,'the legitimate' news outlets, I can't understand, unless they're that stupid too. It's pretty obvious Blago is doing his Chicago best to influence public opinion for the big one.

This whole thing is reminiscent in some ways of the late great Vincent 'The Chin" Gigante, late of the Genovese Crime Family and not to be outdone, the one, the only, the really guilty OJ Simpson. You see "The Chin" used to wander around New York City in bath robe and slippers on the arm of one of his henchmen, babbling a bunch of nothing until he got out of earshot of the Fed's and then would pass orders to his 'helper'. I guess he thought this act would influence the authorities, it didn't and he died in prison where he deserved to die. Then we have OJ Simpson, breaks into a room at gunpoint, robs a couple of memorabilia dealers then lies through his capped teeth thinking he's going to get the same pass he got thirteen years before and low and behold his wrinkly old butt is gone for twenty to life.

The point is this, the Fed's have Blago by everything but the seat of his pants. He's been under investigation since his first term in office and selling the Senate seat is probably the least of his worries. If I was 'Robbin' Rod I would be trying to make a deal with the Fed's to get a slot in the minimum security pen and try to avoid the Big House. His appearance tomorrow before the legislature is more than likely going to leave him without his biggest bargaining chip, his Governors' gig, and after he's booted out he will basically be nothing more than a common thief and another notch in the briefcase of Patrick Fitzgerald the Federal Prosecutor. Good riddance Blago, I'll wait for the abbreviated news report of your final speech.

Creating jobs through infrastructure is a nice thought, but are these going to be permanent jobs that will replace those lost?

There has been so much talk about how a major part of our nations' financial recovery will be achieved through the creation of millions of jobs directly related to new infrastructure and repair and update to old, but really nothing has been said about the permanence of these jobs. Political claptrap or jibber jabber is fine if that's what it takes to get one elected, delivering is another. We have lost jobs in this country over the last ten years in all sectors, by that I mean manufacturing and white collar. We have been slowly shifting towards a service economy and that means lower paying less stable jobs. Nothing has really been said as to how the government and industry are going to address this problem, burying ones head in the sand, up one's butt or remaining silent are not solutions.

I occasionally add definitions to my blog to make a point, generally for purposes of humor and sarcasm, but in this piece a short comprehensive definition will, I hope, help to clarify my ramblings. Infrastructure as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary online; The basic facilities, services, and installations needed for the functioning of a community or society, such as transportation (this includes roads and bridges) and communication systems, water and power lines, and public institutions including schools, post offices and prisons. I'm sure there are many other additions that can be included but these should get the point across.

The creation of infrastructure related jobs looks good on paper, but when will these jobs actually start? It is going to take years in most cases for the money to release for the vast majority of infrastructure projects because of the long term planning that is involved in projects of this scope. Secondly, training for these jobs takes time, years in many cases and traditionally much of that training takes place in the form of OJT (on the job training). Infrastructure is also, seasonally regulated in many parts of the country( winter, rainy season etc...). Infrastructure cannot be pushed through since a great deal of preliminary planning must be done to have a finished product that won't begin deteriorating (falling apart) before the final phases are completed.

Here's a little thought that though relevant is always left out of the silver lining speech's, not everyone is suited physically for infrastructure employment or to use the correct term, construction jobs. Construction and construction related jobs are generally very physically demanding. No doubt, infrastructure or construction jobs pay well for this reason but make no mistake about it, construction workers earn their money. One more point is that when the jobs are completed construction workers don't just step into new projects, they wait for new work to materialize which can take a long time. That is why the majority have always opted for the more stable, slightly lower paying manufacturing jobs that have been exported by the millions in the recent past at no real savings in either costs and definitely quality.

The issues associated with the creation of the millions of jobs that continues to be batted about are far more complex than the politicians let on. With all of the usual partisan political bickering already going on I guess this means that recovery could take a very, very long time to come about. Mr. Obama is barely in office a week and it looks like business as usual in Washington with all of our elected officials trying to get their 'fair' share of the money and showing no regard for their constituents, as usual.

It's lady's day! Sarah, give it a rest, you've had your fifteen minutes in the spotlight and Caroline, you get your last good thrashing from me.

Sarah Palin

In the interest of bi-partisan cooperation, fairness and transparency I am giving equal drubbings to high profile women from both political parties, then I hope they will both drift into political obscurity.

I don't understand why any legitimate media outlet is still covering the Sarah Palin experience, or whatever it's called. She was a good choice from a publicity standpoint and possesses the required smarts for the VP job, reference Joe Biden for a good close comparison, but the thought of her running for Pres is a joke at best. If the Repub's are seriously looking for a female face to make a run for the top job they should be grooming the likes of Carly Fiorina or Meg Whitman, that's if they want someone from outside of politics, but there's also a decent pool of women in The Congress and The Senate that could probably fill the bill easily, and what the heck, if it's just name recognition that light's your particular political fire, slog up the seat assuming Mary Bono Mack, wife of the late great Congressman Sonny Bono, I think one of her claims to fame is that she said 'not only can I spell conservative, I are one' or something like that, I think, but maybe not, but maybe.

It appears she, Governor Palin, has her winking eyes on more than just her current job or even the Senate seat from her home state, that great state of Alaska. And to keep her name in the public eye she keeps throwing her kid's to the media wolves in an effort to keep the spotlight's on, and then accuses the media of going after her family for solely malicious purposes, it ain't workin'. The Gov more than likely knows she hasn't got a chance if she can't maintain a national presence. I have gone through the exercise of comparing VP's from as far back as FDR and Sarah fits right in with the field of Vice Presidential luminaries, she would be capable of doing a Gerry Ford in the event the main guy went away, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot more.

Sarah, here's a good way to get people behind you and to show you have what it takes. Come up with some ideas that are both substantive and have real world viability, something that all Americans will benefit from. Then you won't have to resort to cheap theatrics and crass promotion.

Caroline Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg or is it Schlossberg Kennedy

The clone of Chance the Gardener, the not so effervescent Caroline Kennedy, aka, Caroline Schlossberg ,aka, The daughter of JFK ,aka, thinks she is American Royalty, has finally abandoned her two month long dream of getting her hands on the Senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton. It appears Ms. Kennedy Schlossberg has several 'issues' that have forced her handlers to rethink her future in American Politics. First, she has the public speaking skills of a ten year old, and that's not good for a Senate hopeful. Second, the media claims she may be banging some guy in New York which will generate bad publicity that even the Kennedy fixers may not be able to white wash. Third, she and or her handlers tried to fabricate a past work history which took about five minutes to see through and lastly she may have tax issues, nanny issues and I would guess there may be some lights out in the bill board issues and was not even a regular voter which is a pretty good ndication she probably isn't quite up to snuff on what's going on in the world around her.

I can only hope that the good Secretary of State had a hand in helping to cement the withdrawal by sitting with the Governor of New York and telling him she would personally choke the life out of him if he appointed Ms. Kennedy to the post for reasons both personal and public. If you remember, Caroline came out against Mrs. Clinton in the primaries and swung with Mrs. Clinton's new boss, which in most people's books would have eliminated her from any consideration at all, but that's why they call it politics.

We are still a Democracy, we don't embrace Autocracy, Authoritarianism, Despotism, Totalitarianism, Monarchism, Corporatocracy(even though it seems that way sometimes), Demarchy, Dictatorship, Feudalism, Kritocracy, Logocracy, Meritocracy or Plutocracy and as such you just can't grab a seat amongst the elected elite, you do have to put forth some effort and at least appear to have a desire to lead. Bye bye Caroline.

So here's the deal, will he or won't he? That's Obama letting gay's into the military. Frankly, in real combat if you do your job your OK by me.

I saw this little blurb in the news today and thought it would make a good subject for today's blog and since news has run a little thin, for comment, this week this should fit the bill.

The issue of Gay's in the military has been hotly contested for years when in reality Gay's have been in and served honorably in Militaries the world over since the invention of war itself. And since I have served in a military during a war and have had it brought to my attention that there were gays serving along side me, although none ever hit on me and not that I wanted them to since I was preoccupied in most of my spare time with the pursuit of female companionship and have never had any interest or fascination about having a sexual relationship with another man, I can and can't understand the problem. First of all I would like to dispel what I think is a scurrilous rumor, that is Gay's don't have the proper temperament to serve in the Military and would be a detriment to their fellow soldiers, not so.

After I was long out of the service I was told that several of the men I served with and in fact went through flight school with, were Gay. One of them actually ended up in the same Air Cavalry Troop I was in and transferred there to become a scout pilot which I was and if anything I would have looked at him as being as nuts as I and my fellow scouts were for having the same death wish. The point being, both of the so called Gay guy's I served with, and other than their possible choice of sexual partners, were the same as the rest of us. I can say without a doubt that I would have flown with either of them at any time and would have been totally confident that were I in a tight spot they would have put their lives at great risk as I would have for them, to be honest with you if I was shot down and a gay guy picked me up so I wouldn't be captured or killed I'd be happy to give him a hug if he wanted one, but that's it, end of story. These supposed Gay's were soldiers serving their country honorably, nothing more, nothing less.

Basically what it boils down to is this, no one should get special treatment. Everyone who enters the military should be treated the same and if an individual believes he or she is deserving of special treatment because they are for some strange reason different, that should be an indication that they are not fit to serve, gay or straight. Gay arguments that people should or need to be taught how to interact with gays in the military is bull crap, if you are in the military you get the same treatment as everyone else, gay doesn't mean an individual is entitled to special treatment.

My best guess is that most Gay's don't enter the military for the purpose of using it as a sex pool, they are looking for the same training and opportunities as everyone else, so, what the military needs to do is set down ground rules that apply to everyone and make everyone adhere to the rules. What people do on their own time is their own business. If two guy's want to stuff each other full of whatever when not on duty, it's OK, just keep it to yourselves, the same applies to you gal on gal types as well as your good old fashioned garden variety heterosexuals. The most important thing is that we have an effective fighting force that trains the finest servicemen and women in the world and offers the same opportunities to each and every one of them with no special favors.

OK, so I'm not the ultra conservative Hot Sarah Palin fan others are, I'm an Independent, but this time she's right on target.

Today's article about Sarah Palin being somewhat put out about the kindness the media is showing towards Caroline Kennedy and her statement that the media is being kind because of her social status is absolutely correct. Caroline Kennedy couldn't run for dog catcher and win if she didn't have the particular pedigree she carries. This is just another example of the stagnant pool we call The Congress and The Senate. It appears that we are going to have this political miscreant get the appointment to Senator Clinton's seat and if the people of New York don't send her packing when her term is up then the entire east coast is brain dead.

I don't know why Governor Palin is so upset, she worked her way up the ladder was elected as a Mayor then to a Governors spot, is well put together, not bad looking, relatively bright and will probably win a Senate seat honestly in Alaska, life is good. Caroline on the other hand comes off as an idiot, her last name is Kennedy, looks like the bride of Skelator and if she wasn't from a famous family that's probably paying for the seat, would be cleaning offices in some small town in Massachusetts (I apologize to any and all office cleaners).

Restore the rule of law in this country is the cry of Liberal Senators, I wonder if this applies to the Senators themselves?

There was a little blurb today published by that liberal of liberal rags, the Nation critiquing the current cry by Senator Feingold of the great vacation state of Wisconsin, for a restoration of the rule of law in this country. They are all for each and every one of the suggestions that came about from a meeting of the Constitution Subcommittee where their unanimous consensus was for "Restoring the Rule of Law", the meeting was attended by historians, law professors and advocates to include the very liberal John Podesta. Basically, what I can garner from the article is, and I am putting this in simple terms that I can understand, that The Honorable Mr. Feingold along with his cohorts in the House and The Senate want to be included in the decision making process by the incoming President elect Mr. Obama and his people. That they don't want to be left out in the cold as they have, and in most cases deservedly so, by the outgoing administration headed by Mr. Bush & Mr. Cheney.

Essentially they want to remove the teeth from the office of the President and they want to be consulted on any and all decisions and then determine what will be approved, by them of course. They want to create a politically correct environment where everyone makes nice, as they interpret nice, which means government control or some hybrid form of Socialism for starters. I'm quite sure, that under this proposed political utopia that there will be a spate (Spate as defined by our little friends at Merriam Webster Online as; a large number or amount), of new laws that overlap almost identical laws already on the books, many for years and years, how about just enforcing the existing laws and save the taxpayers some time and money for a change.

Among the list of requests are several I really found to be interesting, kind of like a college freshman 'what do you want to be when you grow up session' moderated by an overly liberal, over sexed tenured professor hoping to impress the girl with the big tits and the short skirt in the front row. Some are givens' like, close Guantanamo, ban torture, set new standards for humane treatment of detainees (be nice to them and maybe they will like us), make significant changes to the Patriot Act, revise the freedom of information act (is that like we shouldn't have any more secrets or worse yet we will be lied to about everything) and release any and all information pertaining to UFOs collected during the last sixty years under The Freedom of Information Act (Mr. Podesta has been working on this one).

My favorites though, are the requests that the intelligence committees be treated as partners rather than a nuisance, which they are. And that they, the Senate and Congress want the office of the President to cooperate with the oversight functions of the Senate and Congress with areas like interrogation policy and surveillance. These requests are all well and good if this means that there won't be any more leaks to the press and our sworn and un-sworn enemies. I don't think so though, the members of the Senate and Congress haven't been able to keep secrets in the recent past and doubtfully won't in the future since they are for the most part nothing more than self serving fools. Nice try Senator Feingold, but this is one even the video game generation can figure out.

Just as the CIA is finally effective again, they are drop kicked back to the 'Carter' years. Intelligence is an ugly but very necessary business.

Today's announcement by the Obama team of the appointment of Leon Panetta as Director of the CIA is, I think, a great mistake. Say what you will, but the CIA has managed to become one of the premier intelligence gathering agencies in the world over the last eight years, despite the fact they are accused of wrong doing at every turn and have one restriction after another placed on them by the government.

The Intelligence business by it's very nature is not a nice business and as such is charged with the task of gathering information that is vital to the security of our country. This point seems to have gone right over the heads of many of our lofty minded officials when they fire one criticism after another at the various intelligence agencies, frankly I'm surprised they can even come close to doing an effective job. Mr. Obama's criticism about water boarding and other methods of interrogation as torture are downright stupid, when information is needed and an enemy combatant refuses to give information that may be vital in counterinsurgency efforts, as in the case of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, any method of interrogation should be OK, that is how wars are won and the lives of our servicemen and women are protected.

Personally I am not an advocate of torture as an initial method of interrogation, but, if verifiable information is not forth coming in a timely manner, harsh methods should be employed as lives of our troops are generally at stake. What our sissified, liberally educated, Prozac popping populace is ignorant of or just doesen't want to deal with , is the simple fact that there is no such thing as a politically correct war. That wars should be fought to be won as quickly and as decisively as possible utilizing whatever means are necessary.

Mr. Panetta has no Intelligence background to speak of and though he may be an able manager is not part of a communiy that works best and accomplishes more when led by one of their own. There is no such thing as a kinder gentler intelligence organization and never will be. This is not the time for on the job training regardless of how quick a study Mr. Panetta may or may not be.

Why is it, when terrorists get dished out a little of what they have been dishing out for years, they always cry foul?

This so called incursion into Gaza has me only somewhat interested. Interested because the Israeli defense forces are hunting down, and killing by the way, the Hamas terrorists who are responsible for the killing of more innocent people than one can imagine, but more so the accusations of guilt being played to the worldwide liberal media about how they are being victimized by their Israeli occupiers. Some of the media appear to be buying into what they are saying but for the most part it is very difficult for even a teleprompter reader to agree with these extremist dogs.

I managed to catch the news tonight on the left and the right, that being CNN and FOX. CNN was going out of their way to try to find some solid ground with their Hamas guests, but in the end deferred to the UN since that was their only way to blame Israel for going into Gaza. The UN with their Arab sympathising stacked committees were hard at work condemning the 'Jews' for this barbarous act. They essentially accused them of intentionally killing women and children, when in reality Hamas use women and children as shields for not only their activities but make sure they store arms, ammunition and explosives at locations where women and children are located. Hamas also, always leaves out the little fact that they always target civilian targets and the killing of Jewish women and children is just fine with them, and if they could get to the US they would include American women and children on their target list.

FOX was basically playing up the whole thing but smacked of selling soap more than anything else. I wish news outlets would just report the news and nothing else, the goofs they employ make such feeble attempts at injecting emotion and opinions into their 'shows' that viewers are forced to change channels after a few short minutes of their insincere ramblings.

The Israeli's will hopefully stay in Gaza until they have killed all of the Hamas terrorists and have thoroughly crushed Hamas rendering it incapable of terror attacks for an indefinite period. I am not so naive as to think that Hamas will go away forever, they will come back again and again and since they have shown that they are unable to keep cease fire and or peace agreements, will have to be crushed from time to time as is happening in the current conflict.
