Vice President Biden announces how we are going to beat the Taliban, click our heels together and say Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!
Then he, VP Biden, proceeded to tell the viewing audience that we were on time with the planned pullout in 2014 and to show how positive he is he stated it would not be a 'token' pullout but we would be turning the entire mess over to the Afghan Army and they would be fully capable to handle anything that comes their way. Again, what door was this guy standing behind when brains were being handed out, or is he just out there acting as his boss' mouthpiece while that wily Barack Obama tries to remake his image in an effort to get ready for a second run at the White House? I'd say a lot of both!
After listening to Mr. Biden spilling our exit strategy to the Taliban and Al-Qaeda for the umpteenth time, I decided to put myself in the sandals of some Taliban planner and see what I could come up with in less than five minutes. Knowing that the U.S. plans to leave in 2014 I would do the following; 1. Keep a little pressure in the form of small attacks, disinformation and an occasional suicide bomber on the US, Afghan forces and Afghan people so they don't get the impression that I'm just laying back waiting for the US forces to leave so I can march into Kabul and take over. 2. I would have my forces begin to infiltrate the armed forces and police throughout Afghanistan so when the U.S. does pull out it will be easy to cause all out chaos through subversion of the forces and all out terrorism. 3. I'd start the peace talks that crooked Karzai wants to have with the Taliban so I could get a good idea of how this corrupt despot runs things and to see if he would be willing to cut me in on the action which would provide funding for my movement.
What are these guys thinking? It doesn't take the the Rand Corporation or any of the other God knows how many useless think tanks in Washington to see that this whole thing is a crap shoot at best. When are our politicians going to let the military fight the wars that they get us into, I can guarantee if they did there would be significantly fewer losses and the wars would be over much more quickly.

I like Michael Steele and hope he gets the nod for a second term as Republican Party Chairman, he delivered!
Mr. Steele managed to bridge the 'gap' with the Tea Party and the Republican Party and essentially helped to bring about the landslide election that recently took place, I am also, of the opinion that he will be able to duplicate these result in the upcoming 2012 elections if he is allowed to stay in his office. If the old guard that make up the RNC put one of their own into the job Mr. Steele currently holds I don't believe their results will more than likely not turn out nearly as well if only for the reason that Mr. Steele was fairly received by the people that make up the Tea Party and the rank and file membership of the Republican party as well.
There are a couple of old Bush administration people being tossed about for the job as well as an ambassador and several other Republican stalwarts but based on Steele's track record it seem foolish to me that anyone would would do anything that might possibly stall the current momentum that conservative has managed to create.
Part of his message to the RNC was "Our work is not done, and my commitment has not ended". As I believe very little that any politician says and also believe most to be insincere weasels I do believe him, well 50% anyway and that's a rock solid endorsement in my book.

Obama's Surgeon General Regina Benjamin issues her first report on smoking and shows she's as much of a BS artist as her boss!
There has been more research done on smoking in the last thirty years than ever should have been. There have been more warnings given, laws passed, age limits imposed, excessive taxes levied constantly and even testimonials from the grave (reference; Yul Brenner) as to why we shouldn't and the inherent evils associated with the tobacco habit. And after all that people keep on smoking. So what do you think the effect of a phony study and a pronouncement from a second rate physician catapulted to the ungodly high position of Surgeon General are going to have on America at large, the answer is nothing and if anything more will take up the habit.
Earlier this week there was a report from the White House and then a comment from the Presidents Press Secretary Robert Gibbs (aka, Mrs. Doubtfire) that the President has managed to beat the smoking habit since March of this year although he would not confirm that 100% which in politispeak that no one has ratted the liar out so far.
There was a real report that came out about ten years ago from a government office that stated that the loss of tax revenues and the burden on the retirement system because smokers have a tendency to die at a much earlier age than those who do not, and proves that the anti tobacco people and the government's assault on smoking have been counterproductive to the economy. The report went on to state that even with the increase in deceases like lung cancer and emphysema with unabated smoking it was still more economical to allow the full use of tobacco as the costs were still offset because there was still less burden on the system. Apparently all of our legislators were in the smoking lounge when this report came out and failed to read it. On the other hand the do-gooders were probably at it again passing rules and regulations that they 'deemed best for the population' and of course without consulting their constituents as usual.
This type of Hitleresque propaganda has been flowing out of the White House like a river during the spring floods for the last two years and hopefully the American people have finally had enough. Though I greatly doubt it, I hope the Dr. Benjamin our Surgeon General is embarrassed from being discredited by this stinker of a report.
Smoke em if you got em!

The President's phony explanation for the tax compromise brings to mind John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free"
There are only two reasons he is paying ANY attention to these issues right now and they are;
1. He got his lunch handed to him is the recent elections and knows that if he doesn't deal with the Republicans before the first of the year when all of the new Congressmen and Senators are seated he won't be able to use the White House bathroom without their permission.
2. He is starting his bid for a second term as of this week and needs the time to re-brainwash the same stupid easily led Utopian idealists he has just finished screwing for the last two years. Or as most of the pundits put it, he needs time to reconnect with the Independents and developmentally delayed immature Liberals that woke up and smelled a real rat.
All of this spirit of cooperation does come at a cost though for Mr. Obama, his progressive way out to the left base is really mad at him for not staying the course and remaining true to their core principles, and from what most gather, put the finishing touches on driving the U.S. into a complete state of ruin allowing them to usher in the new era of Marxist Socialism they are all so eager to shove down the throats of their 'fellow' countrymen, Oh God I love run on sentences when they really apply.
Oh well, so much for the truth setting you free.

Problems with violence are complex but the bulk of the blame falls on Washington for it's lack of action dealing with the illegal drug epidemic.
I realize that times change and I don't want to reference the good old days but there are some comparisons that should be made and possibly reviewed by the so called experts on law enforcement. As a young man I actually respected police officers and on the whole cooperated with them if I had to interact with them for some reason or another, I had no fear of them and like most people, with the exception of criminals, cooperated and had no problems, I understood that they had a job to do and believed they were working on behalf of the public. If I got into some minor scrape it was usually worked out and I like others got on with my life no worse for the wear, the legal system was not nearly as punitive as it has become today which is one of main factors affecting attitudes towards the the authorities, which includes police. Enough for history and as I stated times change.
Law enforcement will probably not admit to this but anyone capable of simple deduction can figure this one out. Police have drifted more in the direction of a paramilitary force and use intimidation more today than ever in the past. Granted, in large metropolitan areas it has become difficult to carry out the old motto of 'To serve and protect' because of gang problems brought about by the lack of attention paid by our governments' from the local through national levels, with the bulk of the blame falling on the Federal Government for their lack of support both in manpower and funding for the fight against illegal drug trafficking and illegal immigration. Had the Fed's put the manpower and funding behind the various agencies tasked with fighting both illegal drugs and illegal immigration twenty five years ago along with demanding that the laws on the books be enforced as written, our problems would be virtually nonexistent today.
Instead of declaring all out war on the cartels and protecting the borders our government and the criminal justice system in particular took a soft handed approach to what our fat cat insulated out of touch legislators thought would never reach the proportions it has today. Well here it is, and it's an ugly giant gorilla of a problem that is going to have to be addressed or it will only get worse. The drug trade has fueled the exponential growth of street gangs over the last twenty five years to the point where Chicago claims 100,000 gang members and even quiet Denver claims 9000 gang members to contend with, illegal immigration has helped to put out economy in the sewer contrary to the rantings of liberal politicians and media types, and herein is where the problems lie.
The gangs surely won't help the police and the people who live in gang infested areas won't either out of fear of the gangs and also because of the treatment they receive from the police who treat anyone living in gang areas like criminals whether they are or not. Since most police departments seem to be attempting to convert to paramilitary organizations it appears the basic psychology used on the general public is one of intimidation which they are finding out in most areas doesn't garner much cooperation from the average John Doe, Diego Vega or Muhammad al Muhammad, which in turn makes it harder do their jobs. I am not advocating cooperating with the police as my experience over the last few years has taught me that the best way to deal with the police is limit communication to zero, whether innocent or guilty, without an attorney present.
Sadly this situation will more than likely continue until such time as the Federal Government decides they've had enough grief from the voters, been paid off enough by the cartels, have enough of their children lost to the drug problem or we are completely broke from trying to support illegals who have no business being here to begin with.

I don't know doodley dick about finance but I have managed to grasp the concept of cut spending = cut the deficit, whats so difficult to understand.
Most republicans are in favor of the cuts in spending that are going to have to be made in order to keep the country from going broke, they are however against the tax increases that have been suggested even though they know that there are going to be some if we are ever going to be solvent again. The Democrats say they will go along but they refuse to stop spending, which even a non-finance person like myself knows will only put us closer to disaster. All I can figure is that they feel a tax and spend policy will bring socialism to the United States that much quicker.
American voters should be proud of the fact that they were able to catch this lot of scum that are out to destroy our way of life and impose one that no American has ever experienced. Remember, socialism/communism takes away any incentive to get ahead and that is contrary to Americans.

While sitting in my blogging blind watching one political Foo Bird after another fly by, Illegal Immigrants and Mexico flew right into my sights.
Part of the flawed logic she floats is the fact that we, America, are overrun with illegals and there is no way we can ever solve the problem because we could never send them all back, really now, so we should just give them all IDs and let things go as they may. All along not stopping to explain that her plan is just another lame scam for amnesty and that she apparently missed that America is on to her and her ilk and that the last election pretty much spelled that out.
Then the next story came on and problem solver that I am, I decided I would float my own possible solution on what to do with Mexico. To hear Mexicans talk the problems in Mexico are almost over and President Calderon is doing a fine job. Why one man cited the fact that there have only been 2800 murders in Ciudad Juarez so far this year, so I guess in a city with an estimated population of 1.5 million that's not so bad considering that their homicide is only 18 to 20 worse than the worst city in America, but I guess it's really OK in a country like Mexico that's got things under control. When prodded about spill over of violence into the US one interviewee said its not a problem, only a few direct murders and decapitations but nothing like our neighbors across the Rio Grande, I guess that means we have it good. One thing none of those interviewed will discuss is the drugs that keep flowing across the border and for all their talk about having the cartels on the ropes that must mean that the drugs are getting here by some miracle or possible aliens from outer space, it's all horse c_ _p. The authorities get one boss and there is another to take his place, like right now.
I had thought about doing a humor piece about the US annexing Mexico but when I really started to think about the gravity of this problem several serious thoughts come to mind. First of all, our politicians from the local level to the President are responsible for allowing this crime against humanity to perpetuate itself. Our borders should have been closed off thirty plus years ago (that's during the Reagan era in case you can't add) and at the very least the day after 9/11. Our inept politicians continue to argue to this very day and that socialist in the White House wants to give all illegals amnesty regardless of background and all for the sake of votes and the furthering of his socialist agenda.
The DEA has never been allowed to go after the illegal drug business full force and is kept at bay through funding or lack of. Our border patrol service cries for more manpower and again the easiest way to allow the flow of illegals and drugs is to keep manpower at a minimum. Groups like the Minutemen are vilified by the Federal Government as vigilante organizations, and this couldn't be farther from the truth. There is a solution and that is ramping up enforcement services for the areas of illegal immigration and drug enforcement, put troops on the border, lots of troops. Close the borders by building walls, real walls along the entire length. Make and enforce drug laws that are so Draconian that dealing in drugs no matter how small will strike fear into the hearts of even the most heartless. Sadly the current administration in Washington will not be the one to address this problem. For this problem to be solved it is going to take a complete changeover in elected officials from the lowliest local politicians through the top spot and those who are elected are going to require a special resolve to get the job done. If you don't think this is serious open your eyes and look around, just a little and you'll be sadly surprised at what's right in front of you face.
"Americans find it intolerable that one constitutional right should have to be surrendered in order to assert another. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave--we don't need a Patriot Act, because we are already patriots. We know freedom means responsibility, but I'm not sure Congress and it's domestic enforcement agencies do. More often than not, new security me assures enacted by the government have resulted in more violations of the citizenry than the terrorists have ever done. The terrorists want us to be afraid--well we are not afraid. Stop wasting dollars on this program--it is not good for America. To give up essential liberty for a little security provides neither. The right to be left alone from government intrusion is the beginning of all freedoms".

Push for tax hikes, No new drilling, Support Assange by keeping silent; Sounds like business as usual for the Obama administration!
The Prez can't seem to get over the idea that the country wants the Bush era tax cuts extended for EVERYONE, and apparently no one in his administration has taken the time to tell him that the American people are on to his one speech after another attempt to brain wash the country to the point that they buy into his hollow promises again. I think it was either Lincoln or P.T Barnum who coined the statement "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time", either way it fits the current President and his entire administration to include Hillary Clinton.
He comes out against any new drilling effectively killing God knows how many jobs in the gulf area. Based on the speed that this administration moves at, it will be a real long time before a drill head cuts the ocean floor and sadly for no good reason other than to push our economic recovery further back.
We are now into the latter part of the first week of the security leak via WikiLeaks and still the country hasn't heard a word from our commander in chief. It was reported that WikiLeaks wasn't shut down by the government but by some ex-military people so this just proves that the President and his people are in favor of whatever breaches in relationships with our allies may come about from this mess as evidenced by their lack of any action. The Rasmussen Presidential tracking poll for today shows 28% of voters strongly approving of the way Barack Obama is performing his role as President. 42% strongly disapprove giving Obama a Presidential approval index rating of -17. In case you don't know this doesn't fare well for the Prez, and by the way his number have been on a continuous downward trend almost since taking office with the exception of a few small ups and downs.
I have some advice for the President since his MO appears to have worn out. Try this Mr. President, Whistle a happy tune, I thought this was advice from Uncle Remus but it turns out it is the title of a song from The King and I, written by Rodgers and Hammerstein. You can google 'I whistle a happy tune' and will see the lyrics fit this administration perfectly.
