It never ceases to amaze me how we Americans are always somehow blamed for any of the troubles every other nation in the world manages to get themselves into. A perfect example is the news article today about President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (I hope all of those names aren't the last names of men his mother thought might be his father) attempting to extort money from the industrialized world, principally North America and Europe, to help preserve the rain forests of Brazil, when in fact the Brazilians, that's Brazilians of Portuguese and Nazi German decent not Indians native to Brazil, have been the principle promoters of the destruction of the rain forests for the last twenty five years or so. They have been systematically logging and clearing the rain forests, displacing native peoples, to expand their agricultural machine as part of their rapid industrialization.
If it was anything other than extortion he wouldn't have used the term 'Gringo' which many say is what they, those living south of the border, call us in North America. I have always looked upon the term 'gringo' as kind of a racial slur similar to a non Hispanic person calling an Hispanic person a 'spic' or calling a white person 'white trash' or a black person a 'nigger' or any one of hundreds of other nasty slurs that apply to the many racial and ethnic groups that inhabit our wonderful diverse planet. No matter what the circumstance, it only manages to incite and infuriate those that are on the receiving end of the slur. And since the rain forest has much to offer science in the form of plants that have great medicinal value and the fact that the rain forests of Brazil absorb a great deal of the worlds carbon dioxide, the Brazilians feel we should all pay to clean up a problem caused by their greed and stupidity. It's extortion because if the countries of the northern hemisphere don't pay they won't be given access to the rain forests. I say no, net, ochi, nie, nein, khong, sam, bian hao and whatever the word 'no' translates into in any other language, I also say, don't buy any products that say 'Made in Brazil'. Sadly, I hope our very own President Obama doesn't cave as usual, to the demands of this particular weasel when he runs into him at the upcoming climate summit in Copenhagen.
I managed to reference a few racial and ethnic slurs today that are specifically Brazilian and under the circumstance deem totally appropriate.
Bugre (Indian in Portuguese)
Macaco (Argentinian description of Brazilians - Monkeys in Brazilian Portuguese language meaning more racially mixed)
Pork and Cheese (Portuguese - sounds similar)

Jobs created and Jobs saved, how about the Obama people created a lie, got caught by the GAO and think they'll be saved if they continue lying.
There was an article about the faulty jobs saved/created statistics that the Obama people constantly refer to in an effort to further confuse and convince the American people that they have lit the fuse under rocket ship we call our flagging economy when in reality much of what they are pumping out is pure unadulterated gas from the south end of a north bound Bull. There was a report out this week stating that the GAO or one of the few other offices that the President and his people can't manipulate the number in, stated that the administration has been overstating the numbers for jobs saved/created by a pretty significant numbers. The example used was a district where they claimed there were quite a few jobs saved/created when in reality the district doesn't even exist. If that wasn't enough, when the government office checked they found out that this 'phenomenon' as we'll call it exists all over the country. They were unable to give exact numbers other than to say the number is large.
There have also, been several other reports out this past week that put much of what the government is saying about jobs in jeopardy. One report stating that about a quarter of the jobs that are currently in the U.S. are jobs that can be outsourced and if that's true it will more than likely happen when the taxes the Obama people are planning to effect are levied. The other stat that is difficult to figure is the productivity reports. The administration claims that the economy is surging ahead, then fairly reliable sources will quickly tell you that what is actually happening is that companies are only replacing inventories that they have to replenish to stay in business, who are you going to believe? I hate to sound like a pessimist and I would like to see our economy move ahead positively but I'm sticking with the economists for the time being and their stance that this is not anywhere close to what the White House claims.

Oooooowe baby, those Democratic strategists weren't lying too much about Republican wins in NJ & VA having no reflection on 44 & Co.
God, and I do mean God, I love elections almost as much as I love irony. Tonight there was a stream of Democratic strategists coming on the various news outlets, one after another trying to do their best impressions of 'men of truth'. To the last man, woman, gender bender and whatever, they insisted that the Republicans winning the races for governor in New Jersey and Virginia had absolutely no reflection on President Obama and Vice President Biden, really now. Their explanations were that this had nothing to do with the Presidents overall image or influence and they made the point that his approval ratings indicated that, what I think they failed to say is that the approval ratings were most likely taken by one of the Democratic pollsters and those interviewed were more than likely Progressives/Socialists and employees of ACORN. I guess his Mephisto (as in Mephistopheles) like charm may be wearing a little thin as even his most ardent supporters and easily stirred up are coming to the realization that they are all, rich and poor, going to be taxed out of their skins to pay for questionable programs the Obamanites are trying to put into play (Obamanites are not to be confused with the Amalekites, the Hittites or the Israelites and in fact have no significance whatsoever with Biblical, Ancient or Recent History other than they would like to see all forms of religion done away with to ease the transition to a Socialist form of rule).
The Prez showed up three times to campaign for, the very soon to be former, Gov Corzine and the Veep made two visits to the Garden state to campaign on his behalf, all to no avail. Apparently over 50% of the people didn't believe a word they said or maybe they just punched the wrong button on the voting machine by accident. Virginia was even worse because the Republicans scored a clean sweep of the highest offices in the state. Neither of these elections bode well for the White House and more so the Congress and Senate. This is a clear message that the American people aren't happy with what's happening in Washington and for the sake of the American people I hope this trend continues in the 2010 and 2012 elections. We're in dire need of a total face change in Washington and this off year election was a great start.
