Socialism doesn't build the road to recovery, it greases the pathway to perdition.

Over the past weekend two events took place that were of particular interest or should I say distressing for an observer of the goings on in America.

The first being the demonstrations staged, at the homes of the AIG executives who were getting the retention bonuses, by the THUGS employed by ACORN, yes the same ACORN that our newly elected President was an organizer for. Sadly the protester's are not the best and the brightest in that they are trained by experienced propagandists to carry out the bidding of their employers without a clear understanding of the consequences they will face in the future.

The protests this past weekend smacked of Marxist Socialism in the early stages of takeover and as such have no place in any country that plans to remain a Democracy. This is a sad indication of the political bent of the current administration and shows the direction they're taking. My logic for the previous statement is that any democracy oriented leader would have recoiled from from the behavior the ACORN 'volunteers displayed in the AIG protests, you may notice I use the word Democracy and not Democratic leadership.

The second issue and of equal importance with regard to our way of life is the President's plan to limit the compensation in the financial, banking and insurance industries. I will readily admit that salaries and compensation are totally out of hand at the executive because of the greed that has swept all areas of our economy. This is an issue that should have been addressed by the shareholders of the various corporations and the bulk of the blame lies there. That said the small shareholders in reality have little to say when it comes to fighting senior management and the boards which for the most part are in league with management, their bought off to put it bluntly.

However the thought of the government regulating salaries and bonuses is almost unconscionable and if passed opens the door to the government limiting everyone's compensation, and for anyone reading this piece that may be lacking in an understanding of the English language; compensation - in the context of the average American worker means PAY. The loudest cries of anguish will come from the emotionally led liberals that elected this President, if we allow ourselves to be taken down this road.

It's time for the Friday Poooooopuri, and there's an awful lot of poo out there to blog.

This week has had some highs and some very lows so I'd better get to work.

1. The high court decides to keep Bernie Madoff the operator of the largest Ponzi scheme in history in jail until his sentencing, what a brilliant move for a change. For the life of me I can't understand how the good 'Your Honor' Chin let this scum bag go home to his seven million dollar, forty five hundred square foot penthouse until last week. He didn't deserve to go home when he admitted what he did, it should have been right into custody, personally I was surprised he didn't disappear or commit suicide in his luxury apartment. There is an old joke that was going around in the days of the infamous Ivan Boesky that is most appropriate that I hope Mr. Madoff gets to experience, it goes like this. Bernie Madoff is in the Fed's big house for his first night of the rest of his life and is assigned to his new digs, his roommate is a rather large man (could be of any racial or ethnic group, your guess), the two exchange pleasantries. Bernie's new roommate then asks him what he would like to be the husband or the wife, Bernie being proven slick operator thinks for a minute and decides to take the role of the husband. His new roommate than says, that's a good choice Bernie, now come over here and s_ _k your wife's d_ _k.

2. Christopher Dodd you lying sack of s_ _t. Does that seem a little harsh, well maybe if he, wasn't one of the main players that started the ball rolling for the financial meltdown we are experiencing. Wasn't one of the lying bureaucrats who allowed taxpayer money to go to AIG for bonuses and to repay his rich FORIEGN hedge fund manager friends, again with American taxpayer money to cover their loses, and then denying he had anything to do with it, only to reverse when he was apparently informed that there was glaring evidence that most of the country knew. This crook was given special treatment for mortgages by his good buddy who chairs Countrywide Financial and is being investigated by the Senate ethics committee for ethics violations, although he is being judged by a jury of his peers and will probably get off since they're crooks like him. And the list goes on and on, isn't it time to send this crook into retirement, the reality is he now says he wants to help out his constituents when he really means he wants to save his sorry ass and nothing more.

3. Barney Frank doing his best, which is not very good at all, to do a phony 'save your sinking ship' expose' on bonus payouts at Fannie and crying that Congress has to take action to put an end to it right away. Barney you are one of the principles involved in the rise and subsequent fall into obscurity of Fannie and Freddie, and the good part is that all of America knows it. The fine Democrats in the great blue state of Massachusetts should wake up from their socioliberal dreams and send this twit packing, once and for all, the brand of Socialism this guy represents is not a good one.

4. President Obama wants a new start with Iran, great. He made his plea to the Ayatollahs and that terrorist weasel Ahmadinejad in an effort to start some kind of dialogue. Their response was we, America, have to atone for our past transgressions. Principally we have to abandon our support for the Nation of Israel and admit that we have been wrong all these years. With all of the political wrangling that will be involved the Iranian's will probably have the time they need to develop nuclear weapons, who knows, these weak sticks in the White House may just give the 'bomb' to them as a sign of good will.

Hit me with your lickin' stick, again and again and again, oh yea, it feels sooooooo good!

1. Not backing the wounded veterans and forcing them to have their care paid for by private insurance is a top shelf screw job and an immoral swipe at the very people who risk their lives to defend our country. This is just one more example of how this President and his entire staff have no moral barometer. Any thought that these people have the well being of the American people at heart is a joke. They float one bad idea after another with no regard for the people they swore to represent.

2. The partnership of acorn and the Census bureau is a blatant attempt to by the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress to push us further into the direction of Socialism. The Census bureau does not need the heavy handed solicitors that make up the ranks of Acorn doing their work. It is not just well known that Acorn promoted fraud in this last election it was proven out.

3. The President just before leaving for his whirlwind trip to the west coast said he had nothing to do with the $165 million AIG bonus mess. Why is it that people who get campaign/payoff money from large companies develop selective amnesia. President Obama and Senator Dodd both got $100 thousand plus from AIG, no wonder they foegot so conveniently.

4. And second to last but not least, TSA or for the abbreviation challenged, Transportation Security Administration or those fugitives from the french fry machine who harass everyone at the airport are going back to basics. They are going back to 'screening' passengers at the gate which is going to make sure that I never fly on a commercial plane again, if I'm lucky.

5. Nancy Pelosi and her immigration meeting. Outside of pandering to a bunch of illegal immigrants and groups that are open immigration and full benefits to everyone people it came off as a bunch of bull. We need teeth in our immigration policy and the fact is we need to send masses back to where they came from as harsh as it sounds.

The headline reads 'Skilled immigrants leaving in record numbers for better opportunities in their home countries' I say good riddance and good bye!

The gist of this news flash is that immigrants are leaving the US in record numbers for their countries of origin. As their countries develop there are opportunities there for them, not necessarily as good as the positions they have held here but they are closer to their families and friends, and they say, the quality of life is better even though they make considerably less than here, sound logic I guess if you believe that bull s_ _t is really the truth, personally I don't. The writer goes on to say that we may suffer from a talent vacuum by letting these people go and implies that we should try to get these people to stay. Now the writer admitted that the economy is one of the primary reasons that many of these people are leaving, one of my guesses is that our marketplace may be a little to competitive for many of these people and they see themselves climbing the career ladder easier in their own countries where competition is significantly less.

The primary groups cited in the article are Indians and Chinese, and realizing that these two groups have strong family ties it is understandable that they would have a degree of homesickness. Please don't get me wrong for so much as a second, I am one of those who strongly believes that cohesive family units are the backbone of great nations. Breakdown and weaken the family and you will eventually become a second rate country/power. The article also went on to discuss the fact that the vast majority of these immigrants who were leaving, originally came here on student visas and were educated in our Universities on our dime, that means we the taxpayers paid for it. Now, I think it's a good and noble cause that we help other countries by educating their youth but I don't agree with it when it's done at the expense of ours. Large percentages of these 'immigrants' graduate college and go to post graduate schools for advanced degrees which in itself is good but there's a catch to all of this.

Our own students don't get any of the breaks that the immigrant groups do. We don't get preferential placement in the University system, don't get free education, free room and board and we don't get any special considerations' when it comes to finding and securing employment. When it comes to hiring, majority Americans are at a distinct disadvantage because of failed government entitlement and quota programs. So what does this all have to do with immigrants leaving, well here's what I think. Give preference to Americans, any Americans will do but include white Americans into the mix for the first time in years. Subsidize the educational system just like it is done for foreign students and open the slots in the Colleges and Universities for our students. When it comes to hiring after education give our young people the advantage for a change and I think you will find that there won't be a talent 'vacuum' at all.

True, some very innovative companies have been started in recent years by immigrants, but innovative companies have also, been started by Americans who by the way rarely get the same credit and accolades as do their foreign counterparts. We are being conditioned by the government and media to believe we are second rate when nothing could be further from the truth. We have always been and will always continue to be the most innovative and productive country in the history of the world if only our people are allowed to be.

Little eruptions of stupidity before the big one.

1. Last week I was cruising the cable new channels in the morning when I happened on to Morning Joe on MSNBC. The guest du jour for that time slot was Suzie Orman, who by the way usually imparts some sane, practical and useful advice to the viewers. Ms. Orman was just wrapping up her interview when they brought on The Honorable Richard Shelby, one of the Senators from the great sovereign state of Alabama and Ms. Orman said she had a question for Mr. Shelby, she went to great lengths to make sure he understood that she was not asking with the intent of insulting him or his office and in no way was showing any disrespect to him or his fellow Senators. He said that was fine and she proceeded to ask him why there were so many of his colleagues on powerful finance committees that were not able to manage their own personal finances and yet they were in charge of managing financial programs for the nation. The good Senator was struck speechless, rendered the proverbial deer in the headlights, turned into the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy looked behind the curtain and found out to be a lunatic who had escaped from the asylum. He had nothing to say, it looked as though the mic had gone dead along with his brain. Senator Shelby then turned his head to the side, which I am guessing was one of his handlers talking to him, trying to get him to give an intelligent response, then turned back to the camera and said, 'well my wife and I don't have any debt'. Good job Senator we are getting a better idea all the time of what we have elected to govern out country.

I for one think there should be certain qualification a person must meet before being allowed to serve on any government committee. If it's finance you should be required to have real world experience in finance, economics etc..and that experience must be with large successful organizations. The same applies to all other areas to include the justice department, real job experience, not lifelong bureaucrats, academics, theoreticians and other fly under the radar types that are clueless as to the everyday goings on in the country they reside, which for the benefit of the bureaucrats is America.

2. The call up of the mother of two, after she was Honorably discharged four years ago should give readers a good indication of the state of our overstretched military. I am a strong advocate of a strong military and as such see this as gross mismanagement by the previous administration, that's the Bush administration in case you may have forgotten. Well, this problem actually dates back to the illustrious progenitor of the last President, George HW himself. You might not remember and since I didn't have this blog up and running yet, so I can't say I told you so, but he and his guy's in the form of the familiar Dick Cheney were advocates of a small high tech military that Mr. Cheney dreamed would be able to defeat all comers, they were horribly wrong as evidenced by the Iraq conflict.

They also, made the National Guard or Army Reserves a component of the active military in that the Army could call up the Guard when they needed troops to help cover, bad idea since this leaves us without a National Guard in times of national emergencies such as Hurricane Katrina etc...etc... Well, anyway as fate would have it the Army appears to be very short handed since they are going after people that have been gone for four years and they must have figured Lisa Pagan had enough of a rest and was ready to serve again, not taking into consideration that she may have a life after soldiering. So she shows up with her two kids in tow and the following day the Army says they are going to give her a discharge but haven't decided if will be Honorable or Honorable/General which will make one look like they have been let go because they are unfit to serve, and the wonder boys who run the military can't understand why they have such a difficult time recruiting people to serve.

3. And while we are on the subject of the military, one of today's news stories is about the Obama administrations' leaning toward cutting funding for the YF-22 Advanced Tactical Fighter since they see it as unnecessary because they don't feel it fits with warfare of the future as they envision it, sounds a little like the last group of non-military guy's who meddled in the Iraq war because they fancied themselves to be tacticians and military strategists even though none of them, including 'W' who conveniently disappeared for most of his military commitment, had a clue as to how to run a war and were in effect responsible for the protraction of the Iraq conflict and it's resulting loses.

And a side bar to the article said the Obama administration also, wants to cut the defense budget. I will make it a point to tell you 'I told you so' when he comes up for re-election since he was so emphatic about taking care of the military, never trust a politician when he's crying crocodile tears. I have no doubt this administration has designs on turning the US into a second rate military power as soon as possible, since they feel the Nevel Chamberlain approach to capitulation is favored over any form of confrontation.
