The media premise that Republican's were the solely responsible for the melt down is an outright lie,the media needs to get truthful.

I caught the first part of a news show on CNBC this evening about mortgage failures and the ensuing mess we have inherited in the short term. What was distressing from the get go was the opening clips showing only people who were related to the former Bush administration. There were clips of interviews with Alan Greenspan, George Bush, Henry Paulson, Hank Bernanke and then I had to turn off the show because I could see it was going to be another hack job, not that I had any doubt from the beginning.

Before I go after the rest of the culprits I have to admit that all of the above are guilty as charged. Each and everyone of them is a crook and if not a crook then a dumb c_ _ k s_ _ _ _ r or if over seventy then senile and should have never made it higher than a patronage worker in a large city. Greenspan babbled on about how he saw this coming at 9/11 for whatever that was worth, and if that's the case why didn't he blow the whistle then and keep on doing so with the aid of his wife, Andrea Mitchell a commentator and perpetual chaser of scoops and a left leaning reporter frequently spotlighted on MSNBC, CNBC and other similar media outlets. More than likely they were making gillions ( that's gillions with a soft 'g') on their investments or just plain paid off with cash, favors and the strongest aphrodisiac of all-power.

They also showed Henry Paulson lying through his capped teeth about saving Wall Street, Hank Bernanke keeping silent while Paulson was being questioned, George Bush explaining that the villains on Wall Street got drunk, I presume he meant on greed. But we've seen this same stuff over to the point that even the Obaaaama, we need Obaaaama woman from Acorn would be ready to puke if she had to watch this garbage one more time. For the last time, the Bush administration knew this was going on and had the wherewith all to stop it. They didn't because they and their friends and donors were making billions.

Enough now, for any Democrat's, Progressives and other left listing types your guys were the originators of this whole thing. Two of the more culpable luminaries in this Machiavellian farce were Congressman Barney Frank and Senator Christopher Dodd, two elected officials that should be prosecuted, but we know that will never happen, but if their constituents were to grow brains between now and their next election round they could be voted out of office and that would be a start. Bill Clinton was intimidated into allowing these two to start the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae disasters, you might call them the patient zero's of the financial crisis.

There were many more where those two came from, but because of self imposed length restrictions I will cut this short by saying that the Dem's are as or more culpable than their counterparts on the other side of the aisle. Remember they and their friends made similar gillions, millions and billions without any regard for the American people, and now they want us to bail them out. The media outlets need to tell the truth and end their bias for one side or the other.

There's nothing like a bruised Presidential ego to make some news worthy of blogging.

Mr. Obama's honeymoon really came to a abrupt halt this week when the Senate voted 90 to 6 against funding the closing of Gitmo. Yes, the same Gitmo that the candidate campaigning to become 44 told his emotionally led followers he was going to close as soon as they elected him to the highest office in the land. Well, he got it shoved up his butt in short order the other day by a bunch or people who, in reality, want to get re-elected more than they want to support their leader.

Those who voted for the funding or shall we say closure of Gitmo are some of the most liberal left, OK I'll be politically correct and say some of the most progressive we have seated in the Senate. The list of yes men is as follows; Durbin (IL), Harkin (IA), Leahy (VT), Levin (MI), Reed (RI), Whitehouse (RI). You may notice that even Harry Reid took a pass and rolled with the majority because Hapless Harry like most of his Democratic counterparts don't have the b_lls to follow their convictions or at least the 'convictions' they claim publicly. Harry is up for re-election and the polls haven't been kind to him lately so he is being forced to follow the desires of the voters in a rare instance.

Mr. Obama really made one big mistake when he put this stupid idea to a vote. First he failed to have a cohesive plan, secondly he thought his Democratic majority was completely loyal to him and would roll over at his Pavlovian command. This isn't Chicago where you can lead a bunch of ACORN morons around and duke'm a saw buck at the end of the day for intimidating voters. These are US Senators and they want these high paying jobs for life and don't give a s_it about Barack Obama or their constituents, they are in this for themselves and will do whatever they have to do to keep those jobs. This is one of those rare instances where the voters have apparently made themselves heard.

More cause to get out of the UN.

While nursing a sinus headache today I came across a news blurb about the government of Sri Lanka announcing that the war with the Tamil Tigers, a terrorist group that has been seeking autonomy for the Tamil minority, was over and that the bulk of the leadership of the terrorist group had all been killed. Not really big news here and has never garnered much attention other than it was the adopted home of science fiction writer (2001 Space Odyssey), astrophysicist and other things, Arthur C. Clarke and not to be confused with the 'Crazy World of Arthur Brown' composer of the song 'Fire' a one hit wonder, unless of course you're a Tamil separatist or expatriate ,but, it is actually very newsworthy for a multitude of reasons.

The first being the length of time this mess has been going and the number of people that have been killed. The conflict has been going on since 1983 and some 70,000 people have been killed in the process. And secondly are some of the techniques that were perfected and passed to other terrorist groups during their reign of terror, specifically the suicide bomb. They also, were responsible for the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the forced recruitment of child soldiers to name two more heinous acts.

Anyway, the thing that caught my attention were the continual requests by the UN for the Sri Lanken government to cease military operations over the last several weeks and look for a peaceful solution. Once again it is quite apparent that the UN has taken the side of the bad guy's and in this instance really bad guy's. Had the Sri Lanken government caved like we usually do, to the demands of the benign leadership of the UN this war would have more than likely gone on for many more years and the statistics for those killed would have continued to skyrocket.

The Sri Lanken government took the only path that would end this conflict, and turning a deaf ear to the UN was refreshing.

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, misled on waterboarding? Your the speaker of the house, you can lie much better than that, get creative.

This is one of the best examples of what we have come to expect from the hacks that are seated in our Congress and Senate. Majority leader, minority leader or just a regular old elected official, they're all the same. It is quite obvious that Ms. Pelosi was briefed on the interrogation techniques being employed, and not being a great forward thinker, and more than likely gave her full approval, and even more than, more than likely knew at the time it was imperative that information be extracted from the rag headed terrorist Islamic scum or we very well may have had additional attacks on our soil.

What's interesting is that there is a paper trail a mile long showing that Ms. Pelosi and company were at many meetings where waterboarding was discussed. Ms. Pelosi continues to call for a 'truth commission' to investigate the Bush administration for legal infractions, how about a 'truth commission' to look at the Congress and the Senate. Come on now, even 44 knows a 'truth commission' will rain s_ _t down on both the republicans and democrats and maybe even snag him along the way, which is why he really keeps backing away from an investigation.

I think Ms. Pelosi thinks that all of America is as stupid as her constituents in California that have elected her to office time and time again. It's either that or she has selective Alzheimer's or some similar ailment.

Obaaaaama, we need Obaaaaama, Oh sorry I keep flashing back to the non-partisan Acorn news clip during the elections. Now to today's feel good talk.

The layoff free fall has slowed slightly this past month and as announced by the 44th himself the number had dropped to 539,000 from well over 600,00 last month, and just for your information the number was adjusted today and was really 699,000 which is significantly well over, but, as they say why give them an accurate number when they'll feel better with a smaller number.

Along with the layoff revelation some more good news was tossed out to the listening public. The Prez announced a plan to permit jobless to go back to school while still retaining their unemployment benefits, this is great if you make enough from 'UN' to cover your expenses which includes rent/mortgages, food, utilities, car payments, kids college etc...etc... and how can I forget college tuition the back to schoolers' are going to have to pay, unless of course they're in one of the groups that gets a free ride or possibly an illegal alien. Realistically, I suppose this plan/proposal may help a very small group of people, maybe, but to be effective it must be all inclusive, which means non discriminatory to all Americans providing equal benefits to all participants.

My annual plea to morons out there to be safe on their motorcycles, it's basic safety we are talkin about here.

I have a recurring wish that runs from year to year and the reality is that I have better things to write about, so I really wish I didn't have to keep doing this. But since there appears to be no shortage of morons out there I am forced to go on this, what is now, an annual rant. Sadly what has pushed me over the edge are the people I have observed as recently as today who ignore basic common sense safety rules that relate to the operation of motorcycles, and what is most disturbing is these people are public servants of the police, firefighter and emergency medical types. What is so annoying is that these people have seen firsthand what unsafe operating practices result in.

This reminds me of a story about an old friend of mine who, for his many many faults and a somewhat wild nature as a youth possessed just enough common sense to understand that when taking part is risky behavior one should take at least the minimum of precautions to insure that he would be around another day to raise his special brand of hell wherever he went. He became a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War and from the get go understood the importance of wearing a helmet. Not that it would stop a bullet but it might just save him if he was to be shot down for some reason, and that's precisely what happened, the helmet saved his life. Fast forward ahead about eight months and my friend was back in the good old US of A and was a flight instructor deep in the Heart of Dixie and had a roommate who was a former motorcycle racer. This was good because my friend got an old 750 Norton Atlas and his roommate would not allow him on that or any other bike without a helmet, now this is 1970 mind you and helmets were not the comfortable pieces of head wear that they are today. But having felt the force or rotor blades crashing into his helmet taught my friend the value of head protection, so when his roommate stuffed his head into an old Bell helmet he couldn't object.

I have applied the same sane logic to my own circumstance and that logic has served me well. That's why I can't understand why people who have basically seen it all don't seem to get it, protecting themselves that is. And whats even more irritating is that these s_ it for brains' all have families. A couple of years ago a classmate of my wife, who was a fireman, was killed in a motorcycle accident. He was riding at night, his first mistake, and without a helmet, second mistake, and hit a small animal on the road, was thrown from his bike hitting his head on the pavement rendering him very dead, and might I add unnecessarily. Which brings me back to the original point or two.

Helmets not only save lives they can and do prevent serious head injuries if one crashes. I will ask them the next time I see them on their Harley's why they don't wear helmets and will probably make enemies of them but then I really don't care because they're goof's anyway, small wonder police and firemen hang together.

One man's mileage tax is another man's invasion of privacy is everyman's introduction to the scary world of Orwell's 1984.

There are some very compelling reasons for saving the newspaper business and some very compelling reasons for letting it go the way of the eight track tape. But good, and I qualify this, newspapers do something that the electronic media is incapable of doing for a myriad of reasons, one of which is the ability to report many stories accurately at one time without the injection of corporate or some moronic anchor's political bias, in other words 'just the facts ma'am.

One of those articles appeared this past week in one of the last remaining reasons why newspapers should NOT go away, The Wall Street Journal. There was a little article on page A5 under 'US Watch' about the proposed mileage tax. This idea is not getting any real fanfare by the administration because they haven't managed to come up with a spin to put out over the airwaves to their throngs of true believers that they can even swallow and support. I use the term airwaves because the majority of true believers are not readers and or thinkers, they get their propaganda via the airwaves in measured doses between commercials for male enhancement products and women fawning over dust mops.

Anyway, the idea of a mileage tax in the form being proposed may have the appearance of another revenue stream for the government but the darker side is a gross invasion of privacy and a further choke hold on personal freedom. Oh. did I mention that it is going to be an additional tax that will never make it to the road repair and maintenance funds but will end up in the general funds to pay for the stupid programs and excesses being instituted by the Obama administration. The above may be pure conjecture, however I would bet money that if the mileage tax makes it through, that the funds will never be used for their intended purpose.

"We must not let our leaders load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessities and our comforts, in our labors and our comforts, for our calling and our creeds....have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers... And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent for another... till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery... And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in it's train wretchedness and oppression.
