I haven't written much lately as I have had other things on my mind mainly a home sale in this pitiful down market and an upcoming move. But the news over the last couple weeks about the resurgence of the abuse scandal has prodded me back to the laptop. I left the Catholic Church several years ago when the abuse scandal was at it's peak in the US and of late have given serious thought to going back to the Catholic church for several good reasons, one of which is the fact that the Roman Catholic Church is the only organization in the world that has the membership and the history to be able to combat the world wide expansion of Islam.
The other is that I had thought that even though the scandal was not handled at all well in the US and that the measures taken were far less than the draconian measures that should have been taken, the church was doing it's best to keep from imploding and in the US at least would take measures to see that it didn't happen anymore, I was really wrong on that one.
Anyway I have to give this a great deal more thought and will write on this subject over the next few days and weeks as it really is important.
Thanks for reading.

If the Local, State and Federal governments' enforced existing laws there wouldn't be any need for 2nd Amendment debate.
The debate over Second Amendment rights continues to drone on backed by the efforts of the Brady people to include the likes of Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago when simple enforcement and strict sentencing would actually produce far better results. The anti gun crowd would have you believe that there would be a veritable crime vacuum if all guns were taken off the street, and that ladies and gentlemen holds about as much water as Al Gores climate change lie.
There are several very important factors that the mayor of the great city as well as the Brady people never seem to touch on so I'll bring them to the forefront in this little essay as it's necessary to add them to the equation to keep this debate from becoming even more lopsided. First and foremost is enforcement of laws dealing with crimes committed with guns, any guns how's that. Very simply put, if a crime is committed with a gun then the perpetrator should go to jail for a long time, there should be no deals, no plea bargains, no backroom payoffs to judges, etc etc. Next, if a felon is caught in possession of a gun, any gun, they should go to jail for a long time, no deals no plea bargaining.
What it all really boils down to though is that laws haven't been enforced and the biggest culprit, illegal drugs, has never been properly addressed from the local to the Federal levels. Illegal drugs have brought about the rise in powerful street gangs who require illegal weapons to ply their trade and the government and the legal system hold the greatest fault for their lack of action in addressing this monumental problem. Here's one very plausible theory that I'm sure will never be addressed, there are literally billions of dollars generated by the sale of illegal drugs for the cartels which leaves literally millions for paying off politicians and law enforcement types which in turn helps to perpetuate this festering sore on the backside of our society.
Simply put, it's not the law abiding citizen who has a gun for hunting, home or personal protection that is the cause of the problem.
