Obama's Surgeon General Regina Benjamin issues her first report on smoking and shows she's as much of a BS artist as her boss!

I'm as much against smoking as the next guy but I refuse to infringe on any ones rights and that includes the right of an individual to choose to smoke cigarettes, cigars (which I loved to smoke a couple of times a year, oh what I would give to be able to enjoy an H Upmann Corona, and had to give up when I contracted lung disease in China several years back), pipes, hookahs, corn silk and even 'the pipe' if he or she can get the person to sit still so they can light it.

There has been more research done on smoking in the last thirty years than ever should have been. There have been more warnings given, laws passed, age limits imposed, excessive taxes levied constantly and even testimonials from the grave (reference; Yul Brenner) as to why we shouldn't and the inherent evils associated with the tobacco habit. And after all that people keep on smoking. So what do you think the effect of a phony study and a pronouncement from a second rate physician catapulted to the ungodly high position of Surgeon General are going to have on America at large, the answer is nothing and if anything more will take up the habit.

Earlier this week there was a report from the White House and then a comment from the Presidents Press Secretary Robert Gibbs (aka, Mrs. Doubtfire) that the President has managed to beat the smoking habit since March of this year although he would not confirm that 100% which in politispeak that no one has ratted the liar out so far.

There was a real report that came out about ten years ago from a government office that stated that the loss of tax revenues and the burden on the retirement system because smokers have a tendency to die at a much earlier age than those who do not, and proves that the anti tobacco people and the government's assault on smoking have been counterproductive to the economy. The report went on to state that even with the increase in deceases like lung cancer and emphysema with unabated smoking it was still more economical to allow the full use of tobacco as the costs were still offset because there was still less burden on the system. Apparently all of our legislators were in the smoking lounge when this report came out and failed to read it. On the other hand the do-gooders were probably at it again passing rules and regulations that they 'deemed best for the population' and of course without consulting their constituents as usual.

This type of Hitleresque propaganda has been flowing out of the White House like a river during the spring floods for the last two years and hopefully the American people have finally had enough. Though I greatly doubt it, I hope the Dr. Benjamin our Surgeon General is embarrassed from being discredited by this stinker of a report.

Smoke em if you got em!

"If we won't choose to pay the price of liberty, then by default we will suffer the cost of servitude--whether it be iron chains of a tyrannical oligarchy or the regulatory chains of unelected, faceless bureaucrats. When we witness our neighbors abused by tyrants, we will skulk away and hope we're not next? Or will we stand by them and challenge--as freedom-loving Americans----the tyranny of lawless leaders".
