While sitting in my blogging blind watching one political Foo Bird after another fly by, Illegal Immigrants and Mexico flew right into my sights.

So I'm watching the news tonight when not just one but two stories catch my interest. The first was a state Representative from Utah whose name I have already forgotten and other than the fact that she was a Democrat, because there was a (D) after her name. The plan that she is proposing is that all illegals in Utah should become registered so they can pay taxes into the system, sounds good at first if your brain dead or a moron. She makes this explanation with the usual Thorazine smile that liberals are notorious for when they think they are getting over on the rest of the country.

Part of the flawed logic she floats is the fact that we, America, are overrun with illegals and there is no way we can ever solve the problem because we could never send them all back, really now, so we should just give them all IDs and let things go as they may. All along not stopping to explain that her plan is just another lame scam for amnesty and that she apparently missed that America is on to her and her ilk and that the last election pretty much spelled that out.

Then the next story came on and problem solver that I am, I decided I would float my own possible solution on what to do with Mexico. To hear Mexicans talk the problems in Mexico are almost over and President Calderon is doing a fine job. Why one man cited the fact that there have only been 2800 murders in Ciudad Juarez so far this year, so I guess in a city with an estimated population of 1.5 million that's not so bad considering that their homicide is only 18 to 20 worse than the worst city in America, but I guess it's really OK in a country like Mexico that's got things under control. When prodded about spill over of violence into the US one interviewee said its not a problem, only a few direct murders and decapitations but nothing like our neighbors across the Rio Grande, I guess that means we have it good. One thing none of those interviewed will discuss is the drugs that keep flowing across the border and for all their talk about having the cartels on the ropes that must mean that the drugs are getting here by some miracle or possible aliens from outer space, it's all horse c_ _p. The authorities get one boss and there is another to take his place, like right now.

I had thought about doing a humor piece about the US annexing Mexico but when I really started to think about the gravity of this problem several serious thoughts come to mind. First of all, our politicians from the local level to the President are responsible for allowing this crime against humanity to perpetuate itself. Our borders should have been closed off thirty plus years ago (that's during the Reagan era in case you can't add) and at the very least the day after 9/11. Our inept politicians continue to argue to this very day and that socialist in the White House wants to give all illegals amnesty regardless of background and all for the sake of votes and the furthering of his socialist agenda.

The DEA has never been allowed to go after the illegal drug business full force and is kept at bay through funding or lack of. Our border patrol service cries for more manpower and again the easiest way to allow the flow of illegals and drugs is to keep manpower at a minimum. Groups like the Minutemen are vilified by the Federal Government as vigilante organizations, and this couldn't be farther from the truth. There is a solution and that is ramping up enforcement services for the areas of illegal immigration and drug enforcement, put troops on the border, lots of troops. Close the borders by building walls, real walls along the entire length. Make and enforce drug laws that are so Draconian that dealing in drugs no matter how small will strike fear into the hearts of even the most heartless. Sadly the current administration in Washington will not be the one to address this problem. For this problem to be solved it is going to take a complete changeover in elected officials from the lowliest local politicians through the top spot and those who are elected are going to require a special resolve to get the job done. If you don't think this is serious open your eyes and look around, just a little and you'll be sadly surprised at what's right in front of you face.

"Americans find it intolerable that one constitutional right should have to be surrendered in order to assert another. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave--we don't need a Patriot Act, because we are already patriots. We know freedom means responsibility, but I'm not sure Congress and it's domestic enforcement agencies do. More often than not, new security me assures enacted by the government have resulted in more violations of the citizenry than the terrorists have ever done. The terrorists want us to be afraid--well we are not afraid. Stop wasting dollars on this program--it is not good for America. To give up essential liberty for a little security provides neither. The right to be left alone from government intrusion is the beginning of all freedoms".
