Worse, the Chinese this past week declared sovereignty over the South China Sea and at the same time warned the U.S. not to send any aircraft carriers there to take part in war games with South Korea. In case the reader is not aware China is currently fielding a 10 million man Army and they do it under the guise of national and or internal protection. I continually wonder who buys this one since there are no, and I mean, unequivocally no countries that would invade China no matter what and for what. Since WWII Japan has had no real army so they're of no real threat, Russia has a shrinking population because of the lasting effects of Communist rule and an ingrained socialist mindset and in fact will probably lose Siberia to the Chinese by default within the next several generations because of the large influx of Chinese who continue to immigrate there. So who is interested in taking over China, the answer is no one. The real reason for the large army and the staggering military industrial complex is simple, China will move to expand at some time in the future and wants to be so formidable and sophisticated that no standing or combined armies in the world would dare to oppose them.
On a personal note, I don't buy goods produced in China unless there is no other viable alternative. And again, it is my belief that our government and the short sighted corporations made a colossal mistake getting into bed with Beijing to the incredible extent that they have.
"We must ask that government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living. The activities of the individual must no be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within the confines and be for the good of all. Therefore we demand an end to the power of financial interest. We demand profit sharing in big business. We demand a broad extension of care for the aged. We demand...the greatest possible consideration of small business in the in the purchases of the national, state, and municipal governments. In order to make possible to every capable and industrious citizen the attainment of higher education and thus the achievement of a post of leadership, the government must provide an all around enlargement of our system of public education...We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents...The government must undertake the improvement of public health--by protecting mother and child, by prohibiting child labor--by the greatest possible support of all groups concerned with the physical education of youth. We combat the materialistic spirit within and without us, and are convinced that a permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of The Common Good Before the Individual Good".
