There's nothing like a bruised Presidential ego to make some news worthy of blogging.

Mr. Obama's honeymoon really came to a abrupt halt this week when the Senate voted 90 to 6 against funding the closing of Gitmo. Yes, the same Gitmo that the candidate campaigning to become 44 told his emotionally led followers he was going to close as soon as they elected him to the highest office in the land. Well, he got it shoved up his butt in short order the other day by a bunch or people who, in reality, want to get re-elected more than they want to support their leader.

Those who voted for the funding or shall we say closure of Gitmo are some of the most liberal left, OK I'll be politically correct and say some of the most progressive we have seated in the Senate. The list of yes men is as follows; Durbin (IL), Harkin (IA), Leahy (VT), Levin (MI), Reed (RI), Whitehouse (RI). You may notice that even Harry Reid took a pass and rolled with the majority because Hapless Harry like most of his Democratic counterparts don't have the b_lls to follow their convictions or at least the 'convictions' they claim publicly. Harry is up for re-election and the polls haven't been kind to him lately so he is being forced to follow the desires of the voters in a rare instance.

Mr. Obama really made one big mistake when he put this stupid idea to a vote. First he failed to have a cohesive plan, secondly he thought his Democratic majority was completely loyal to him and would roll over at his Pavlovian command. This isn't Chicago where you can lead a bunch of ACORN morons around and duke'm a saw buck at the end of the day for intimidating voters. These are US Senators and they want these high paying jobs for life and don't give a s_it about Barack Obama or their constituents, they are in this for themselves and will do whatever they have to do to keep those jobs. This is one of those rare instances where the voters have apparently made themselves heard.
