I was torn between Myanmar or Burma as it is and the debacle there, which by the way is not to be blamed on the US government at all so lighten up all you left leaning blame every disaster on the other guy morons, and the revelations that really aren't revelations flowing out of the seat of power by the not so grateful former press secretary for the president, Scott McClellan, now it's OK for you left side name callers to unleash the fury of your usual b _ _ l s _ _ t rhetoric. I am choosing Myanmar, and for good reason, no one is going to die from lack of disaster aid if they don't run out and get the McClellan book, I'll fire a round across his bow tomorrow.
Myanmar is another example of a third world country being taken over by their Marxist style military and then being punished by those new despots for totally unknown reasons for years and years. This is one instance when I must go along with our government and continue to call this country Burma. The scumbags in the military that run this country have absolutely no cause to prohibit the aid that has been offered by virtually every developed nation in the known world. My best guess is that they like politicians the world over seem to lose touch with their countrymen and think that the people they have come to rule are incapable of reason. They don't want any other entity other than themselves handing out aid to their people? I don't get it, these guy's must be some of the dumbest individuals ever to drop from the womb on to their collective heads.
The Burmese people may not have the highest levels of education in the world and this is only caused by the thugs that run that country, but, they are more than capable of figuring this one out. Maybe it's the exposure to other Asian countries that have been run by Fascist's and communists that has influenced these goofs to run their country the same way. No one in the civilized or uncivilized world has ever been able to make sense of the infamous late great Pol Pot for his killing of millions and the total torching of his country's infrastructure and economy, even the Vietnamese, who are no angels had to move against that animal. And how can we leave out the ever effervescent Mao Tse-Tung or Zedong as the Chinese now want it spelled, no one will ever know how many millions of his countrymen he put to death in as many ways and proceeded to keep his country in the dark ages while he and his family profited. Communist rule in Southeast Asia has for the most part been a failure. Each and every country that has fallen under the thumb of Marxist rule has had it's growth and development stagnated.
There is a simple answer to the current state of affairs in Burma and I am sure it will draw much criticism from the wimps in the west, but here goes. Burma is bordered by Thailand on the east, Laos on the northeast, China on the North and India on the west. Since Laos is probably not capable of launching action as they are basically an agricultural entity ruled by a communist government they are not of much consequence in this equation, but, we have Thailand which is a kind of monarchy democracy hi bred quickly developing country. We have China which is a large very quickly developing very powerful country and we have India which is very comparable to China in most aspects. Now I realize that any one of the three mentioned countries has the capability to overthrow the goofs in Burma and with just a little cooperation from the big three they could easily accomplish this. There is almost no down side if they were to do this, you notice I said almost. The only downside is if one or more of the surrounding countries wanted to absorb or just rule Burma after an overthrow and then the same situation that exists today would continue into the future, the Asian communist/fascist dictatorial mindset. However, with the Chinese trying to look statesman like these days in the eyes of the world, this is an excellent opportunity to show that they are good guy's and really do care, even if they probably don't, and would give them a great cover to continue down their current path of totalitarian rule, who knows, they might be able to stretch this good guy thing out for five or ten years before everyone catches back on that they are the same commie thugs as they have always been.
This is the classic catch 22 situation regarding aid to this country. If I send money it will only go toward the enrichment of thugs who I am sure revel in the thought of westerners sending them cash which will go right into their pockets, or, let our government try to convince these morons that our intentions are only to ship aid to a country of 47,000,000 with no strings attached. I think I am going with the government aid on this one and let them put it on my tax bill.
