Laws And More Laws And How Long Will It Take For The American people To Wake Up To See Their Freedom Being Taken Away! I'm Going Libertarian!

Why is it, in a nation that is known for it's rugged individualism, it's ability to overcome any adversity, that prides itself on really being the land of the free and the home of the brave, are we allowing our freedom and ability to exercise common sense to be eroded by one wave of ridiculous laws after another? As things stand it appears there were adequate laws to govern the behavior of the American people, on the books, prior to the recent renaissance in decorum that is smothering our country, I must defer to Webster so as not to offend before I offend; Decorum - Dignified propriety of behavior, speech, dress etc. An observance or requirement of polite society. Orderliness. Basically our law makers (lawyers) want to turn us into a litigious society incapable of exercising common sense in our every day actions and dealing with others, litigious by the way is defined as; Given to carry on law suits. The adverse effects of political correctness and the unregulated political/legal system is altering our country's collective psyche in such a way that we will be a second rate power and second rate economy at a time when we should be a model for the rest of the developing world. I'll give you the one sentence definition so there is no misunderstanding as to where I am going; Psyche (sy key), The spirit or soul, as Webster defines it. We are being turned into a country of wimps and worse, pussymen by the lawmaking bodies that we elect. We elect people to office that tell us that they are going to further the cause of freedom and as soon as they are in office they proceed to take more of our freedoms away and use the excuse that they are doing it for the greater good. Greater good is sometimes defined as, something very unpleasant and many times lethal, must happen to an individual or group for the masses to benefit, personally I would like to take care of my own "greater good" and not put it the hands of someone who has never had a real job and has a somewhat skewed view of reality (refer to the above mentioned group) and are generally not well liked. We are effectively having our right to make our own decisions taken away, we are placing our futures in the hands of a small group of highly unqualified out of touch people who make many of their decisions based on how they will personally benefit from their actions in an indirect way that cannot be detected by the general public at large, in other words greed and power are their prime motivators, at the expense of their countrymen. Which brings me to today's point.

We hear the mainstream political parties, the Republicans and Democrats, yammer on and on about how they are the party that looks out for the American people, offer more freedom and less government. Well, lets look at the last eight years and for good measure look at the previous eight for comparison purposes, I don't want to look as though I would discriminate or single out one of these two groups. Well they both fail in the more freedom and less government departments, they have basically sold us out, not in the strict sense of selling out as in treason although some would throw that one in for good measure, we have bigger government, way more laws, less personal freedom (look at probable cause laws). So whats a voter to do when none of the choices presented to him or her are just voting for whoever you think the best of the worst is? Libertarian Party, now wait a second before you move that cursor up to the red X in the upper right hand corner and click the left button on the mouse. I am leaning toward the Libertarian Party for several reasons, one being less government, another they want less laws and for the most part the enforcement of the laws on the books now, balanced budget, less government interference in personal freedom and a live and let live attitude. Now, I know nothing is perfect and there are a few individuals that surface in the fringe parties that occasionally come off as being somewhat different or shall I say not completely in step with mankind in general, but, for the most part you could introduce most Libertarians to your friends and not fear embarrassment or even a good shunning. It, the Libertarian Party, has been around since 1971 and Libertarians cast 13 million votes for various candidates in the 2006 elections, not enough to create a landslide for anyone but a viable block anyway. Plus, I am really tired of promises stuffed with baloney from government officials. Maybe the emergence of a real third party wouldn't be all that bad. It might serve to get the mopes we currently host to actually listen, get somewhat in touch with those they represent and consider what it is they are currently doing to undermine their own people and future generations.
